Kim Carson: Honky Tonk + Rockabilly = Tonkabilly. “Her brand of high octane Twang is traditional without being retro”, per Alex Rawls of OffBeat Magazine.

Kim grew up in Canyon, Texas in the high plains of the Texas panhandle and began playing music in New Orleans, LA. She’s been named “Best Country Artist” eight times by readers of OffBeat Magazine. Her concert album “Live at Tipitina’s” was voted “Best Country Album” of 2004. Her music is real country with influences from Buck Owens, Merle Haggard and Loretta Lynn. She’s less Diva and more Honky Tonk Girl.

Kim has appeared at the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival about a dozen times and plays regularly at the French Quarter Fest, Louisiana Crawfish Festival, BayFest in Mobile, AL and the Shrimp Festival in Gulf Shores, AL. You often see her at the Frank Brown International Songwriters Festival, too. If not busy enough, she and her band tour Europe each year for about 3 months.

Kim Carson’s motto is “Don’t Fear the Twang!”.

Hope you tuned in last week to watch our 2 TV shows, M2B which airs on NBC Local 15 at midnight, immediately following Saturday Night Live and The Java 5 Concert Series. Weekend before last, John Moore was featured on M2B and shared his vast knowledge about guitars and rock & roll. Kevin Cooley was the feature on The Java 5 Concert Series. Quite an accomplished contemporary Christian artist who ventured to Nashville to have his latest CD recorded. He presents a great sound and message.

This past weekend, we hope you got to see some of our favorites, Before Nine on M2B and Dennis Nelson & Denny Wilkins on The Java 5 Concert Series Halloween Edition. Both shows were fabulous.
